Best coleslaw and pan fried chicken. Samantha and Mariah are quick and friendly. I try to go once a week.
Food, Service and staff was friendly Great place to have an Indiana Breaded Tenderloin!!
Best breaded tenderloin in the State!! The Walleye is excellent also. Along with the fried chicken.
We used doordash the other day to order from Takathemoke. My doordash driver called me and said he was at the restaurant and they had not even started my food. Apparently they got burned a few times and they don't start the food until the driver gets there so that made our wait more lengthy than it should have been. So setting that aside the food that we received was good and hot when it got here. We ordered the breaded tenderloins because that's what they seem to be known for. We were not disappointed with the tenderloin it was not too thin and it was breaded and fried well. The onion rings that I had with mine were too greasy and not crispy enough and I got I saw a side of coleslaw and it had good flavor. We also ordered breadsticks and they were the typical breadsticks and cheese. Maybe the onion rings would be better if we ate there instead of ordering it to go? The hubby liked his tenderloin as well and he got the buffalo chips on the side and said they were ok. Next time we eat here we will probably eat in and we do recommend the tenderloins.
Amazing staff! I get the breaded pork tenderloin with fries ALL THE TIME Mariah is always the one who waits on me when I go there and she is just one such a sweet person. The tenderloins are ALWAYS huge. They are as big as the box and fills me up for sure!! They are never cooked to long either, they seem to ALWAYS be JUST right!
Awesome fish. Fantastic cole slaw. Been coming here for years. Never fails to disappoint.
When traveling The Hinterlands of the Heartland, roughly midway between Indianapolis, Indiana, and Cincinnati, Ohio, you will find it worth your while to take a detour to Milroy, Indiana and the TAKETHEMOKE restaurant. TAKETHEMOKE means "House of Good Food" in the Native American Shawnee Language. They are NOT kidding !!
My wife and I have driven through Milroy countless times, and I always think "We need to stop here and have a meal", but we're seldom through at mealtime. Saturday, we were, and when I saw they have a hand breaded tenderloin, I knew that was what I wanted to try. It was very, VERY good. Well above average, and the price was VERY reasonable...a large breaded tenderloin (They offer two sizes) and a side for $6.95. They've got a number of sandwiches on the menu, and some more "fancy" dishes too, like fresh Walleye, some steaks, and so on. Honestly, I was torn between a 3 and 4 star review because service was a tad bit slow.....BUT we had dinner at 330PM, and they weren't staffed for dinner, so I decided to cut them some slack and go for a 4. We'll certainly return.
